Allison Vitsky Sallmon began diving in 1992 in Florida, spending her first years as a diver exploring the wrecks and reefs off the southeast coast, as well as the spring-fed cave systems of central Florida. When she did her first dive in the cold waters of Gloucester, Massachusetts in 2003, she fell in love with temperate water environments. She currently lives (and dives) in San Diego, California. Allison’s photographic work has been recognized in numerous international underwater photography competitions, graced the walls of the Smithsonian Institute and other museums, and appeared in books and magazines on diving, marine life and nature photography. Allison is the founder and CEO of DiveIntoThePink.org, a nonprofit organization that mobilizes the dive community to raise money for breast cancer research and survivor support.
